Here are the top five deadliest countries for journalists as per the Reporters without Borders report.

Syria
Syria has recorded the highest number of journalists killed, accounting to at least 17 field journalists, 44 citizen journalists and 4 media assistants in 2012. Syria is tagged as ‘cemetery for news providers’ by the report. Journalists are also targeted by the Syria armed opposition groups, who are highly intolerant to the criticism and they brand journalists as spies when they fail to match their views.
