35 Pct Women Fall Prey to Partner's Sexual Assault: WHO


Bangalore: Women are the most significant members of the society who build and shape the country. But today, they are the most targeted and affected ones when it comes to violence and crime and are no longer safe anywhere even in their own home or around their loved ones, especially their partners.

Women are the worst victims of violence. In addition to all this, violence against women by their own intimate partners has considerably increased at a mushrooming growth all over the world, said a report by World Health Organization (WHO).

It hinders and violates the basic fundamental rights of the women folk, limits their active participation in society and further harms their health.

Almost 35 percent of women all over the world have gone through physical or sexual assault by their own partner or sometimes by non-partner as compared to the other forms of violence.

Out of which, most of the forms of violence are intimate partner violence.
