11 Things India Needs To Focus On Instead Of Reacting To Aamir Khan

BENGALURU: In past few months, Indian general public has been questioned and also confused in the light of recent comments on whether India is a tolerant or intolerant country. Instead of reacting on comments, India has more pressing needs to focus on tackling, as opposed to merely reacting to, according to indiatimes.com.

sdEntertainment:

We all are engaged in entertainment which governs the ‘in-and-around’s of our day-to-day life. We need to change our perspective regarding entertainment and also what we need is to stop consuming big budget mindless films that does nothing but empty our pockets with exorbitantly priced movie tickets. We need to be more open to movies that touch upon subjects like homosexuality and human trafficking in a sensible way. That way, cinema, which is called a mirror of society, will actually give us a crystal clear picture of society.

sdTolerance:

We all know that when Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan made statements about India being intolerant, the country went into an accusing and over-reacting mode. Twitter also went to an extent by calling them terrorists and jihadis. As Indians first, we have the fundamental right to express freedom of speech and thought. It is here that we should truly wear our thinking caps and think—'are we overreacting?'

A democratic nation listens to its people and their opinions and does not victimize them for having different ideologies.
