Politicians who swear to serve and protect their people, in turn abuse their power is a classic example. 10 Adlai Stevenson II
This one’s unintentional, Adlai Stevenson II, the grandson of former vice-President of the United States Adlai E. Stevenson I, accidently killed Ruth Merwin, a 16-year-old family friend, when Stevenson was just 12 years old. He was unaware that the gun was loaded. He was never charged for the murder, but it always made him uncomfortable talking about the incident when he became an adult. As a politician, he was elected as the 31st Governor of Illinois.

9 James Hamilton
The 4th Duke of Hamilton and a member of parliament, James Hamilton was found guilty of murdering nobleman Charles Mohun over an inheritance issue. As popular belief Hamilton shot Mohun in the gut in a duel, which severely wounded him. However George MacCartney fired the second shot which killed Mohun. They both fled the crime scene and were later tried for absentia for murder but were exonerated.
