Celebs too certainly find this an engaging way to communicate with their fans at a more personal level.  The social media magnets who take the time to look into the world of social networking are followed by many and have found a reason to rejoice. Here are the 10 most followed Indians on social media, as compiled by Shravan Bhat for ‘Forbes’.

Amitabh Bachchan:
One of the greatest actors of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan is ardently followed by many on Twitter. With more than 18,000 tweets he is one of the most active celebs on twitter. He has about 42, 80,729 followers on Twitter (figures as of Jan 19, 2013) and tops the list of Twitter followers. Bachchan’s twitter and blog had also generated initial buzz around his grand-daughter Aaradhya. At 523, he follows the most number of people on Twitter. Sr Bachchan had also joined Facebook about six months ago and already has a humungous 35, 94,665 Facebook likes.

Shahrukh Khan:
Shahrukh Khan falls in the second place on the list. King Khan has about 34, 84,911 Twitter followers. SRK has been trending on social media networks as Twitteratis showed their never-ending likeness for him on Valentine’s Day with messages of love under #WeLoveSRK trend. He has about 33, 48,623 Facebook likes, making him one of the most followed Indian celebs.
