10 Least Corrupt Countries in the World


Bangalore: A world without corruption is certainly hard to imagine. But what seems possible is the fact that there are countries that have mitigated the effect of corruption by preventing it from spreading in every nook and corner. The countries have been ranked as per the Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index 2012. These countries were rated on the scale of zero to 100, zero being highly corrupt and 100 being very clean on the Corruption Perceptions Index. Here are the top 10 countries in the world that have curbed corruption, as per yahoo.com.
India scored 36 on the index securing 94th place among 176 countries.

10 Netherlands
Score: 84
Netherlands is one of the least corrupt countries. The country is known for its neutrality and carries a long tradition of social tolerance. Netherlands judicial system is independent and free of corruption.

9 Canada
Score: 84
Canada scores the same as Netherlands on the index and is on the ninth position on the Corruption Perceptions Index for being least corrupt. With basic rights and freedom guaranteed to the people by the Canadian government, it is not usually overridden and this has suppressed corruption.
