BENGALURU:  The word immigration means moving from one place to another, but the reasons behind it has changed over centuries. People have migrated for a more fertile land,  in pursuit of jobs and even for greater religious freedom. Migration in the recent past is however heavily influenced by politics, war and poverty—to sum it up, people are seen to be migrating to avoid struggle in their homeland.

However warm and welcoming the host country might be initially, too many immigrants in that land might create obvious social tensions that are bound to raise in that country. Ultimate results of such mass immigrations are serious aggression towards the immigrants.

Oxford’s Special Progress Index has researched on the least welcoming countries for immigrants.  Here are the top ten least positive environment countries compiled by The Richest:

# Russian Federation:

Tolerance Score: 41.82

Russian ImmigrantsThe largest nation in the world which is home to 143 million inhabitants—Russia is the 10th least tolerant country in the world. Though the nation boasts excellent access to higher education it is utterly poor when it comes to personal rights. Despite such impressive education structure it is surprising that Russia performs poorly in terms of ‘Tolerance of Immigrants’. As of 2014 Russia is the second largest immigration haven in the world. The rising need for labor in unstable Russian economy is the driving force for immigrants and life of an average labor in Russia is hard and miserable.
