One of the books written in prison is ‘The Consolation of Philosophy’, which is a philosophical work by Boethius and was written around the year 524. It was translated from Latin to English by Chaucer, Queen Elizabeth I and King Alfred and the book serves as a word of caution to those in rule and power. The Travels of Marco Polo:
The Travels of Marco Polo is written by Rustichello da Pisa. It includes stories told by Marco Polo, describing his travels through Asia, Persia, China, and Indonesia between 1271 and 1291. The book is known to have been written on accounts which Rustichello da Pisa had heard from Marco Polo when they were imprisoned in Genoa having been captured while on a ship.
