PM a Rockstar Indulging In Self-Praise: Ajit Singh

PILIBHIT: Describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "rockstar", Rashtriya Lok Dal president and former Union minister Ajit Singh today accused Modi of indulging in self-praise on foreign soil.

Addressing a farmers' programme here, Singh said Modi had visited 18 countries in the last one year, and claimed that he would go on similar number of trips in the next year and accused Modi of behaving like "a rockstar with a mike in his hand" indulging in self-praise on international platforms.

Singh said Modi has forgotten promises made in his party's election manifesto on various issues.

On bringing back black money, he said BJP president Amit Shah had stated that it was "just a 'jhumla (empty promise)”.

Similarly, the promise to implement agricultural scientist M S Swaminathan's report on giving 50 per cent more than the cost price of production as Minimum Support Price to farmers has turned out to be another "jhumla", he said.

In a jibe, he said God was angered by farmers voting for Modi at the Centre and Mulayam Singh Yadav's SP in Uttar Pradesh, and had sent unseasonal rains and hailstorm.

On joining Janata Pariwar, he said leaders of these parties lack trust between themselves.

Supporting the demand for reservation to Gurjars, he alleged that BJP was not willing that Jats should get quota.
