Uppi 2 Collects 45 Crores, Creates History As Highest Rated Movie


BENGALURU: The latest talk of Kannada film industry is the recent movie Uppi 2. The movie reviews created zeal among the social media and dragged immense number of people to the theaters. More than 40 crore people all over India and world watched the movie last weekend, as reported by FilmiBeat.

‘Upendra’, the prequel of Uppi 2, had formed huge buzz in 1999, therefore the expectation mounted on the sequel, which benefited the movie’s release in the first weekend. The movie promises a psychological mind twister, which kept viewers spellbound. Hence, the movie is rated highest by International Movie Database (IMDb) 9.7 out of 10 (highest till date in the world). Uppi 2 is the second Kannada movie listed in the top by IMDb this year after Rangitharanga.

As claimed by some reports, Uppi 2 collected more than 40 crores in first three days. The movie was released simultaneously in Karnataka, Seemandhra, Telangana, Maharashtra and all over India. The movie was well received in all the states and Karnataka and Telugu speaking regions is recorded as the highest collection as of now.

The abroad performance has additionally set another milestone for Uppi 2 as the movie was released in many theaters in U.S.A than Bengaluru. The maker of the film Priyanka Upendra said, “I have got many enquiries from people in Scotland, Australia, Kuwait, Germany and other parts of the globe with a huge Kannada audience”.
