'Girl On The Train' Movie To Release In October 2016

Emily Blunt and Rebecca Ferguson-starrer big screen adaptation of bestselling book "The Girl on the Train" will hit theatres in the U.S. on October 7, 2016.

Actor-filmmmaker Justin Theroux is in talks to replace Chris Evans in the DreamWorks' film, which also stars Jared Leto, Haley Bennett and Edgar Ramirez, said The Hollywood Reporter.

Evans' deal for the project did not take off due to scheduling issues.

Blunt, 32, plays a troubled woman (an alcoholic whose husband left her for his mistress), who becomes fascinated by a seemingly perfect couple whose home she passes while riding the train.

But after she thinks she witnesses a murder, she begins to realize that she may have been involved in the crime.

Theroux, 44, will play Tom, the woman's ex-husband.

Paula Hawkins' hit novel hit shelves in January 2015 and has sold more than 3 million copies in the U.S.
