Veer Zaara

A true Yash Chopra drama with dialogues penned down by Aditya Chopra which is etched forever in our mind forever. The whole story is a flashback in the words of Veer Pratap Singh (Sharukh Khan) who is a Squadron Leader in the Indian Air Force.He speaks out his love story with Zaara Hayaat Khan (Preity Zinta) from Pakistan. He narrates the story to Saamiya Siddiqui (Rani Mukherjee), a Pakistani lawyer who believes in strict principles and ideologies in life as taught to her by her father.

The narrative begins when Zaara comes to India with the ashes of her governess. As the bus meets with an accident, Veer comes to her rescue and Zaara completes Bebe’s (governess) rites with his help. Zaara promises to head to veer’s village she wanted to thank him. Veer’s parent’s ( Amitabh and Hema Malini ) wish to accept Zaara as Veer’s wife and the next few hours that they spend with her turns into a joy of lifetime for them. While returning to the station Veer gathers courage to speak about his love for her but before anything could happen that way Zaara introduces Raza( Manoj Bajpai), her fiancé who is looking for her in the station.

Before Zaara boards the train Veer confesses his love for her and promises to sacrifice his life for her at any point of time in her life. On reaching Pakistan he realizes that she has feelings for Veer but she her marriage is decided with Raza for the benefit of her father’s political. Her maid and her friend, Shabbo calls him seeing her helplessness. Veer resigns as an Indian Pilot and reaches Pakistan but they are never destines to live together as fate decides something else for them.

Veer spends 22 years as a prisoner in Pakistan while Zaara moves to India after Raza’s death. Though in exile in another’s nation they find their love with each other and live with their love.

Saamiya, an angel for both, unites them and after which Veer returns to his homeland. A true love story which shows sacrifice and only love for each other.
