Zomato Looks For A Wider Platter, Plans to Reach 22 Countries Over Next 2 Years

Chaddah co-founder and coo of Zomato says, his mobile app has been quite popular with about two million downloads in India and around 0.75-million overseas. And now that foot ball World Cup is around the corner it plans to make Zomato as their go to app to find venues, places to eat, enjoy the nightlife, or even catch a game over drinks. He even added keeping the World Cup aside Brazil has great market potential.

The challenge which lies ahead is the way how Zomato’s strategy will be in finding out the right people and the right teams to ensure that it makes a mark during its expansion. Having the right set of skill is just not the key but we have to ensure that every street in the city is covered for the services rendered, exclaimed Chaddah.

However, having established over all major Indian cities, the company took a step ahead in launching its services in UAE in September 2012. The response that they received in UAE was tremendous and that gave confidence for Zomato that it was a global product. Outside of India Zomato gets highest website traffic in UAE and major source of revenue is from selling advertising space to restaurateurs, which they intend to continue with, says Chaddah.

As market sees a shift towards mobile and internet platforms across the globe this makes it easy for Zomato to strengthen their position and widen their user base. The company which is intending to move completely into mobile platforms globally sees itself as a mobile centric company in future.
