Why Indian Companies Are Hesitant Towards IPv6

India- Hooked up with excuses

Earlier, the Department of Telecommunications had set March 2012 as the deadline for the public sector companies while the RBI posted December 2012 as the deadline for the banks to upgrade all the payment gateways to the new address format. But, as usual the Indian companies have missed both the deadlines. Initial evidences that have come into picture shows that ATMs and Bank Internet websites still continues to use the old format of IPV4 for their web address.

AB associates technology consulting founder and HSBC bank ex information technology Chief Anuj Bhargava considers it to be a critical situation. Bhargava cites that even though the transformation is very simple by making use of software, Indian companies are not showing substantial efforts toward it. The main root of the problem is that things get very complicated when a new company comes into picture with the new IPV6 address.
