RIM Releases First Version Of BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10

Bangalore: Research In Motion released the first version of its BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10, a week ahead of its flagship BlackBerry 10 release, reports PCMAG.

RIM said BES 10 ‘re-invents’ RIM's enterprise mobility management solution by bringing together device management, security, and mobile app management for BlackBerry devices. BES 10 acts as a single console to manage BB, Android and iOS devices.

"BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 empowers employees to be more productive and better equipped to serve customers while it provides business and IT leaders with the confidence that corporate data is protected and manageable in the same way they have long enjoyed with BlackBerry," Peter Devenyi, senior vice president of Enterprise Software at RIM, said in a statement. "BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 makes mobility easy for businesses to help keep them moving."

RIM said BES 10 is a great tool that offers flexibility to the employees to manage business issued or personal devices even if they are not BlackBerry devices. All the devices will be managed via web based console while users get options to separate the secure apps from the personal ones on their BlackBerrys via BlackBerry Balance.

RIM also said that its BlackBerry World for Work, a new corporate app storefront for BlackBerry 10 Smartphones will let companies manage employees’s apps "Administrators can push and install the organization's mandatory apps to both corporate and personal-owned devices and publish recommended apps to employees," RIM said.

BES 10 can help managers to set up work profile to the individual employees and also allow the specific content to specific employees or groups.

BES 10 is available on BlackBerry.com; news users get a limited 60 days free trial; existing users can upgrade to the new version.
