Bangalore: IT organizations are now experiencing a fix in deciding which option to opt for; public cloud or private cloud.

Though public cloud saves a lot of initial investment, it can lead to excessive dependency on the cloud vendor over a long period and as private cloud provides a solution to this problem; it is very expensive for starters.

What is necessary now is the need to understand private cloud in a better way and wash out certain myths that have been prevailing. For instance, private cloud is often misunderstood as virtualization whereas the truth is that they need to understand that it is true that virtualization and cloud are co-dependent on each other but they are two completely different technologies. This will help them in defining their objectives in a better way.

Also there are misconceptions that cloud reduces the productivity of an organization. There are businesses which are not ready to take into account the requirements of the customers and force upon their mentality of knowing what is best for others. A change in this mentality will help in deploying private cloud in businesses.

Similarly, there arises a need to lay down the expectations that one is riding on while implementing a private cloud. The hype surrounding simplicity that cloud brings makes everyone think that deploying cloud would be simpler. This is not the case as implementing cloud takes a lot of time and in order to achieve desired results, it can take some time before the benefits are visible.
