Not This Time Amazon, Google Slashes its Cloud Storage Pricing 2nd Time in a Row

Bangalore: The cloud pricing war is heating up between Google and Amazon. Google, who earlier this week announced a 20 percent slash has again come up with an additional 10 percent discount on their cloud storage services, just to stay under Amazon’s latest pricing. This announcement brings the total reduction rate from Google to over 30 percent.

Google’s Latest Pricing

It all started with Google announcing a 20 percent discount over Google Cloud Storage services earlier this week. This was followed by Amazon’s move to slash its S3 cloud service by about 25 percent. Yesterday, to every one’s surprise Google again raised the bar by declaring an additional discount of 10 percent.

The search giant said in its post that it's "committed to delivering the best value in the marketplace to businesses and developers looking to operate in the cloud."

Amazon’s Cloud Pricing:

Lately, Amazon, Google and Microsoft have been constantly fighting over cloud computing. These offerings provide users with additional capacity in storage, so it’s pretty evident that cloud provision is the best way to generate some real cash.

So with the dueling heating up, Will Amazon make the next move or Will Microsoft join the pack? - So many questions to be answered. The tech world is eagerly watching.
