BENGALURU: The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is to ‘Make it Happen’. But how many of them are actually following that? To find that ET bureau had paid a visit to the ‘yet to be popular’, Koramangala’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Bengaluru. There they came across these dashing women entrepreneurs who are busy popularizing the positive business spirits in the region. Read further to find, what these women entrepreneurs have done:

Santha Jacob and Smitha Jacob, mother and daughter based in Koramangla, started out a fun venture targeting all the jewelry lovers in and around the area. It is no secret that women’s love for jewels is insatiable, and the Jacobs cater to such women. They tapped the handmade jewelry which is also gaining popularity amongst the women folk, off late.

Why only Koramangala? Simple, as it is one of the top locations with a good customer base. The duo say that they have a good bonding with the residents in Koramangla and people here are educated enough to understand the value of handmade jewelry. Santhoos, which started out with a seed capital of 50,000 in 2012, reached break-even in 2013. Today, its Facebook page has got more than 7000 likes.

The duo is proud to have converted their hobby into a profession.
