Intel Introduces New Platform for Big Data Crunching

Bangalore: The increasing number of companies working towards showing organizations the value of big data is not unnoticed. One among them is the California based Intel that specializes in the making of chips.

The company has recently launched its latest software platform that makes number crunching possible on a massive scale. The company is in high hopes that this latest launch will help in boosting the sale of its server chips. It hopes that by getting more companies encouraged with its software, it can increase the sales of its high-end Xeon server processors. For this, it also plans to get its version of Hadoop distributed through various service providers and vendors, apart from getting its own technical support services sold.

Intel has in fact, recently had its third version of Hadoop unveiled. This can lead the company towards various forms of improvement like solid state drives which can thus direct the company towards a better working, as has been declared by the general manager of Intel’s datacenter software division and Vice President of the architecture group at Intel, Boyd Davis.

"One of our biggest motivators is to drive faster growth of the data center itself," Davis said, as quoted by economictimes.
