India Snatches Enterprise Software Market


Bangalore: Regardless of the euro-economic crisis that affected the IT industry globally, the Indian enterprise market stood strong even during such volatile market conditions. Recently a forecast by Gartner says that Indian enterprise IT spending across all industries is expected to grow in 2012 by 10.2 percent that would estimate above $39 billion as compared to previous year's $36 billion.

According to sources by 2016, India's share of the software market in Asia Pacific is expected to reach 12.1%, representing $5.4 billion in revenue, or 1.5% of the total worldwide software market revenue of $361 billion,

 This year the market is projected to grow 13% in 2012, to revenues of $3.2 billion, according to Gartner. Asheesh Raina, principal research analyst at Gartner says that “With Indian enterprises continuing to embrace IT to improve productivity and drive growth, penetration of ICT infrastructure has been growing rapidly during the past decade.” reports Alex kayle of ITweb.

According to Gartner in the next five years, the fastest-growing segments in the enterprise software world will be Web conferencing and team collaboration, enterprise content management, customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning.
