India - The New Destination For Low-Cost Security-Sensitive IT Products

Bangalore: India has added one more feather to its hat. It has recently garnered the prestigious "authorizing member nation" status in the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA). The country is in-line to become one of the premier destinations for low-cost testing security-sensitive IT products that are extensively used in telephone and other vital infrastructure networks, according to top officials in the telecom and IT industries, as reported by Kalyan Parbat of ET Bureau.

CCRA is an international body that describes common processes to certify IT products. It presently houses 26 members, which includes the likes of developed economies such as the U.S., UK, Canada, Germany, France and Japan.

The governing consortium of CCRA recently cleared India's application for "authorizing nation" status, which allows the Indian companies to set up CCRA-accredited private test labs within the shores of the nation.
