Huawei Consumer Business Group in association with Dabboo Ratnani conducted a month-long photography challenge using Huawei’s latest flagship device- Huawei P20 Pro. The contest provided an opportunity for young talented photographers to redefine the meaning of visual expression while celebrating the power of mobile photography.

With Huawei P20 Pro’s cutting-edge technology pushing the boundaries of creative mobile photography, the contestants captured powerful and provocative images. As part of the activity, the company has announced deckle_Edge (from Instagram) as the winner of #P20ProBattleLeague, finally concluding the contest today.

The winner has been gratified with an Amazon gift voucher worth INR 50,000 and is also getting his winning story featured in a specially curated Coffee Table Book by Huawei. The book will also feature selected works of the contestants and that of the ace celebrity photographer, Dabboo Ratnani.

Centered on handpicked themes, such as Macro-B&W, Windows, Metal and Street, the contest unfolded in 2 phases. In the first phase, Ratnani chose the top photographer for every theme from a select list of 20 contestants. Successively, the second phase saw the four theme winners pitted against each other for the final round.

Talking about his experience with the device and the #P20ProBattleLeague, Dabboo Ratnani said, “I was amazed by the creative expressions that I witnessed as part of the contest. The whole concept of empowering imagination with technology was extremely interesting to begin with. The Huawei P20 Pro is the best Android device for photography aficionados, thanks to its variable 0.95 aperture, monochrome mode and zoom stabilization. The fact that no software tweaking of the final image is required is especially outstanding.”

Often compared to a DSLR camera for its three Leica branded rear cameras, 5X hybrid zoom, and the large 1/1.7 light sensor, the Huawei P20 Pro offers significant advantages over the competition while shooting in various degrees of illumination.

The final 4 contestants were asked to share a single picture describing their ‘journey of becoming a Pro’. The contest was promoted across social media, with a prime focus on Instagram, using the hashtags #P20ProBattleLeague and #SeeMooore. As a result, the tremendous buzz was generated among photography enthusiasts.
