Chennai: IT services and solutions provider HP today launched its centre of excellence in Chennai to cater to clients in the Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) region.

The centre will help its clientele with quick access to information on the SAP HANA platform, Maneesh Sharma, Head, Database and Technology, SAP India said.

"These HANA-based services enable organizations to gain insights from information to make fast and informed decisions. SAP-HANA has all database on memory with data flowing on real-time basis," he told reporters here.

The Chennai Centre will cater to eight clients in the region with an employee strength that was "pretty decent," Amit K Chakravarti, Head of SAP Strategic Services, Enterprise Services, HP, APJ said.

The new offerings are built on HP CloudSystems, an element of the HP Converged Cloud portfolio that provides a complete, integrated and open platform. 

The COE is staffed by experts to provide in-memory computing "which enables customers to speed up data analysis to seconds instead of hours," the company said.
