HCL Tech Bags $100Mn Ford Deal

Bangalore: HCL Technologies, India’s fourth largest information technology (IT) services company has bagged a multi-year infrastructure management services deal worth $100 million ( 540 Crore) from U.S. based multinational automaker Ford Motor Company, reports TOI.

Earlier, Ford had outsourced parts of the contract to IT company, Stefanini, based out of Southfield Michigan. The portion also involved desk side services. But later on a recent Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act (WARN) revealed that Ford would be ending the contract and HCL Technologies will be the well sought out replacement in the contract, effective from April 1. The termination also led Stefanini to lay off 107 employees who were handling the service process for Ford.

Ford Motor Company’s desk side and service desk business support resides at their Michigan’s office and most of the employees are from the remote sites in U.S.
