98 Percent Internet Runs On Our Architecture: Intel VP


Bangalore: Intel has marked an 18 percent growth in the emerging markets and has plans to tap the market further to increase its chances.

Greg Pearson, Vice-President & General Manager, Worldwide Sales 7 Operations, Intel said that the chip-maker is committed towards serving the emerging markets.He added that nearly 85 percent of the population resides in these emerging markets and thus these markets are replete with opportunities.

He was talking in the Annual One Intel Summit held in New Delhi. According to him the rising middle-class population country like India, where Intel has been investing since 1988, have helped in increasing the consumer electronic market. “People are willing to spend more on IT devices”, he said.

"Quite a phenomenal transition that is happening, net users in emerging markets were fast outpacing those in mature markets," he added.

The most marking revelation that Pearson made was that 98 percent of the sever infrastructure runs on Intel architecture.
