#3 Canvera

Dhiraj Kacker and his business partner, Peeyush Rai, are passionate shutterbugs and so is their business venture, a tried and tested route from their hobby. Canvera.com, an online photography company provides mass customized products and e-commerce solutions for professionals.

Both Rai and Kacker were together at IIT Bombay (1989-93), after which Kacker left for his PhD in electrical engineering from Purdue University, Indiana, USA. Both of them shared a compatible work relationship which is the reason behind their venture. They made up their mind to position themselves as the only organized player offering print and design services to professional photographers. Currently, Canvera has emerged as the leading name in business and has offices in nine cities, including Chandigarh, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow and Jaipur.

#2 EduSports

Saumil Majumdar along with three other friends; Meer Waqiruddin Khalleeq , Parminder Gill and sister-in-law Jyoti Majumdar founded a sports management services company, Edusports, in January 2009.

EduSports was a shoot-off of SportzVillage, which Majumdar had founded in September 2003. Majumdar was a serial entrepreneur and a graduate of IIT (Mumbai) and IIM (Bangalore) and had also founded Learn@home and QSupport at the end of 1990s.

Their main concept was that sports ought to be an integral part of every child’s education and upbringing. And thus, they created the infrastructure where kids could be trained in various sports under one roof and about 1.5 lakh students in nearly 220 schools across 70 cities have gained through this venture.
