30 Indian Software Product Firms Leave NASSCOM, Forms iSpirt

Bangalore: Thirty Indian Software product firms have announced their detachment from IT industry associative body Nasscom, to form a new alliance called the Indian Software Product Industry Round Table, or iSpirt, reports timesofindia.

iSpirt, led by some of the high-prolific leaders of Indian IT industry including Bharat Goenka, co-founder of Tally Solutions, Sharad Sharma, former head of Yahoo India R&D, startup mentor and founder of Brand Sigma, Naveen Tewari, founder of InMobi, and Vishnu Dusad, founder of Nucleus Software, is all set to have its first general body meeting in Bangalore on Monday. The meeting mainly will be focusing upon new action plans and formalization of the association.

The group has been formed with a vision to develop a new powerful Indian software industry, capable to deliver hardcore IT solutions on a global basis. The interesting fact about this group is that the members have a strong customer and product base in India and throughout the world, which makes iSpirt a perfect dais for expertise and enthralling experiences.

"A few good software services companies may be good enough to serve the top 500 hospitals in India. But if you want to address 500,000 or more hospitals around the country, you cannot do it without software products," says Goenka, who many regard as the father of the Indian software product industry. Under Goenka, Tally accounting solution has earned him Nasscom's first and only Lifetime Achievement Award.
