Some products do rule the market with their gained popularity and some fail to survive in the heavily competitive market. All the products that made the list were innovative in their respective categories when released and here are the top 10 best selling products of all time.

1. Sony: PlayStation
Category: Video game console
Total sales: 344 million units

The PlayStation created and developed by Sony in the United States in 1995, which went on to become the most popular gaming console of all time, having a 32-bit processor the most powerful that is available on the console market. Sony sold more than 155 million units as of December 2012. The latest edition PlayStation 4 has been wildly successful, about a million were sold in the first 24 hours and 7 million units were sold as of April.

The video gaming console has been supported by popular game franchises, including the Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, and Gran Turismo series.

2. Pfizer: Lipitor

Category: Pharmaceutical

Total sales: $141 billion

Liptor is a drug that helps in lowering blood cholesterol and used in prevention of cardiovascular disease. It was developed by Warner-Lambert, which later merged with Pfizer and was approved for marketing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 1997. The drug has had sales of over $125 billion, which amounts to 20 to 25 percent of Pfizer’s revenue.
