Bangalore: A daily ranking of the world's 20 wealthiest individuals is launched by The Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The ranking is based on market and economic transformation. The combined net worth of the 20 richest people is $676.8 billion. The list includes the world's richest and Asia's richest people. Listed below are the top rankings in both the segments.

CARLOS SLIM

Carlos Slim Helu was born January 28, 1940. The Mexican business magnate and philanthropist, is the richest person in the world, twice in a row. The Chief Executive and Chairman of telecommunications companies Telmex and America Mevil has widespread holdings in other Mexican companies throughout his conglomerate, Grupo Carso SAB, as well as business interests elsewhere in the world. His corporate holdings as of September 2011 have been expected at $63.3 billion. The 72-year-old's net worth fell $478.4 million in a day to $68.5 billion as of the close of markets on March 2.
