Canada

Canada is one of the major suppliers of hydropower to U.S.; they sells hydropower to U.S. at a very low price. The market for Canadian hydropower is picking up.

While Canada recorded 18 terrawatt-hours of hydroelectricity in the 90’s, by the end of 2008, this reached 53 terrawatt-hour. Out of the total electrical power, 65 percent comes from its hydropower.

At the 2012 expo, Canada recorded following points: All renewables: 53.4, Wind index: 63, Solar index: 40, Infrastructure: 66.

Italy

Global Rank: 7

The total gross capacity of Italy’s renewable energy was 41,325 MW in 2011. The total energy was 84,190 MW. But recently there was a sudden increase in Italy’s energy investments.

Italy also imports renewable energy to meet its requirements. To limit this deficiency, Italy is trying to opt for accepting electric cars, tram. This will conserve its fossil fuel.

In the renewable energy expo, Italy got the seventh rank. Italy’s scores are as follows: all renewables: 55.2, wind index: 56, solar index: 56.
