These Are the Most Valued Indian Brands 2016

BENGALURU: A recent study by the research agency Millward Brown, commissioned by WPP revealed the list of top valued Indian brands this year. The overall value of the Indian brands this year was estimated to be 90.5 Bn US dollars while it was 92.2 Bn dollars last year.

According to the study reports, HDFC bank is listed as the most valued Indian brand with 14.4 Bn US dollars following an average of 15 percent growth from the last year. While HDFC bank is in the top of the list for the third consecutive year, Bharati Airtel has retained its second position with a brand value of 9.97 billion USD. State Bank of India also remains in the third position devoid of changes with a brand value of 6.3 Bn USD.

Although Asian Paints came up to the fourth position with 4.08 billion USD, ICICI bank was devalued to the fifth position in the list with a value of 3.9 billion USD.  While Bajaj Auto retained in the sixth position, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruthi Suzuki, and Hero MotoCorp followed by Axis Bank are in the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th position respectively.

According to the millwardbrown.com, due to a decline in brand value of state-owned banks, the total brand value of Top 50 went down marginally by 2 percent. Despite this, brands in the financial sector still made the largest contribution to the overall value, but significant growth was also seen across multiple other sectors including auto and consumer goods.
