BANGALORE: Which country doesn’t want to be categorized as the wealthiest country in the world? Every country tries its best to improve its economy and provide a better standard of living to its residents. But a very few countries manage to do well and get enormously rich.  Many countries were extremely hit by the economic crisis in the past years. In spite of the crisis, they managed to survive and move forward to enhance their gross domestic product to sustain their growth. Here is a list of richest countries in the world:

#1.Qatar

Qatar is a sovereign Arab country, located in Western Asia, on the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It is the world's richest country per capita and has the highest human population in the Arab world, having an estimated gross domestic product of $213.1 billion. Furthermore, it is recognized as a high-income economy, by the World Bank.

The country has the world's third largest natural gas reserves and oil reserves in excess of 25 billion barrels which contributes 85 percent of the actual income of the country. Before the discovery of oil, Qatar was noted mainly for fishing and pearl hunting. To enhance its citizens’ living standards, the ruling royal family has set a policy on no tax from the people’s income.
