BENGALURU: With increasing business prospects in India, the number of billionaires in India is also on the rise. According to the Hurun Global Rich List, India is now home to 97 billionaires, adding 27 more than the last year. India made it to the top three countries generating most billionaires in the world, while U.S. tops the list followed by China. And the combined wealth of these billionaires adds up to $266 billion.

The India list gives details of the richest people in the country with a cut off wealth of 6,000 crore. Mukesh Ambani with wealth of 1.2 lakh crore tops the list among billionaires in the country. Here are the other billionaires who follow him in the list:

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Industries:

Mukesh AmbaniMukesh Dhirubhai Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited is the largest shareholder of the company with a net worth of 1.2 lakh crore ( 1.2 trillion). He is the ‘Grand Master’ of Indian Business. Ambani tops the list of billionaires in India, one among the milestones he accomplished so far. He was ranked 37 on the Forbes list of the world's most powerful people in 2010, and was included in the Forbes's list of "68 people who matter most".

The report said that "It has been a busy year for the energy tycoon whose flagship company Reliance last year sought approval of 78,000 crore expansions to their existing refinery business. Ambani also bought out one of the largest media houses, Network 18, for 4200 crore”.
