Rupee Vs Dollar: Financial Impact on 12 Sensex companies

Bangalore: Amid the rupee logging its sixth weekly loss today, rating agency Crisil said the sharp decline would impact inflation and force RBI to delay rate cuts. "A weak rupee will impact the imported component of inflation, of which crude oil is a major component.

With the RBI intending to sustain headline inflation to 5 percent by end of this fiscal, the rupee slide may make the RBI pause further repo cuts," Crisil said in a statement, reported PTI.

However, the spiky chronological fall of over 6 percent of the rupee in the June quarter may affect the short-term performance of few of the big companies. The fall might also damage their labors to alleviate margins in a slow paced economy.

On one hand while exporters including pharmaceuticals and IT are affected naturally by the downfall of rupee and the positive impact is limited, on the other hand for importers the detoriating Rupee value will make up for the benefit of falling global commodity prices. Here are few of the companies which are getting affected by the weak local currency on their financials, listed by Economic Times.
