Reliance Jio Offers Extended till March 31, 2017

BENGALURU: Reliance Jio customers can now enjoy the Jio welcome offers till March 2017 up from the previous deadline of December 31, 2016. Reliance Industries Limited’s Managing Director Mukesh Ambani announced that all Jio users will get free benefits including data, and voice calling till March 31, 2017. The company renamed its welcome offers to New Year offers as well.

Reliance Jio announced that home delivery of SIM cards will be available in top 100 cities in India by December 31, 2016. The SIM is then activated in 5 minutes via any of the 2 lakh eKYC outlets across the country. The company is also aiming to increase its Aadhar based eKYC facility to 4 lakh outlets by March.

Mukesh Ambani said that Jio is a data-strong network built for the Internet and a Jio customer uses 25 times more data than an average Indian broadband user. While he blamed the voice-call drop on lack of inter-connect points by other telecoms, he also said that the call drop rate has now come down to 20 percent from an earlier 90 percent. The company announced that Jio now fully supports Mobile Number Portability facility. Even though the offers are extended, the FUP limit (Fair Usage Policy) has been revised to 1GB per day, from the initial 4GB. After the user exhausts the predetermined data limit, the speed will be throttled to 128Kbps.

The company also launched its new Jio Money Merchants app, helping merchants to start accepting digital payments from their customers. Jio targets about 10 million merchants across India with its new app.
