Reliance Jio Blames Airtel, Vodafone and Idea for Interconnect Issues Resulting in Failed Calls

BENGALURU: While the Smartphone market is at the peak there follows a bunch of available network providers to offer better services to the Smartphone users.  One such network is Reliance Jio, offering 3 month free data offer to the users. Eventually the offer has proved to be a major threat to other network users in the competitive market.  According to TOI Business, Reliance has blamed other incumbent networks with the allegation of available inadequate interconnect points leading to total number of 10 crore calls failing every day.

The telecom company accused Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular for violating telecom license conditions and TRAI regulations. Jio also claimed that the improper interconnect problem is affecting its customer’s quality of services.  The problem is also increasing the number of call failure rates in the last few days. The three current operators have not yet resolved the issue despite repeated reminders and numerous bilateral meetings.

Reliance jio also claims that there have been no signs of positive intention or any changes in the addition of interconnect points by the operators. The Times of India also revealed that the press releases and media statements by the operators showed positive intent to augment interconnection capacity within few days and since no steps has been taken, more concrete action is warned against these operators.

Lastly, Jio is also upset with the fact that the incumbent operators are not cooperating with number portability and most of the porting requests have been rejected, further causing inconvenience for the customers.
