Nearly 2,500,000 Travellers Now Using Concur and TripIt Mobile Apps

Bangalore: Concur, the world’s leader in providing integrated travel and expense management solutions, with over 15,000 clients globally and hundreds of clients in India alone, has announced that close to one million travellers are now using it’s mobile application on their iPhone, Android, BlackBerry or iPad to book or amend air, rail, car travel, and hotel rooms or manage their expenses. Additionally, more than 1.5 million travellers are using TripIt on their mobile devices to organize and share their trips.

The figures show that as global smartphone usage continues to rise – according to IDC the worldwide market increased 5.4 percent year over year in the fourth quarter of 2011 – there is a growing appetite for apps like Concur and TripIt that can make the travel experience more seamless. 

In India, users are increasingly embracing new technologies like smartphones, mobile broadband and tablets. Cheaper and more affordable tablets are ushering in a plethora of new users and while the tablet ecosystem is at a nascent stage, growing awareness and better technology is expected to increase the tablet usage in India by a whopping 107 percent by 2017. These promising statistics give the company a significant opportunity to expand its mobile application and TripIt user base in the Indian market in the next few years.
