BANGALORE: E-commerce portals and startups, taking over the retail business has become a usual thing in the current scenario. Portals like Myntra, Flipkart and snapdeal have made their way to the top in the business by giving discounts and eye popping offers. But recently as the number of smartphone users in the country hiked, the e-portals decided to try their hand on App only business. Giving importance to only Android customers have seemingly backfired Myntra, reports Tech2.

Myntra was the first site that announced to go app-only in May 2015 and it looks like the company’s app-only strategy has failed. In order to get back to their market position the company is planning to launch a mobile site for its users. The company has shut down their desktop as well as mobile sites previously as a marketing strategy since it claimed 95 percent of its Internet traffic came through mobile and 70 percent sales were generated through smartphones.

As per the reports the company is all set to buck up lose that has been happened due to going app-only. The competitor companies like Flipkart and Snapdeal have also tried their hands in improvising technology services with giving considerations to smartphone users in the country. But these portals also released a liter mobile version of their respective sites so that they can keep up with the sales. Thus there won’t be anything to get surprised if Myntra also follows the path of its contemporaries.
