JK Rowling is no more a billionaire, she recently lost her exclusive status because she donated so much of her money to charity and also due to Britain’s high taxes. She has given away $160 million to good causes, which are aimed towards organizations that helps single parent families in a bid to give them more opportunities to find employment, enter into education, and provide child care facilities so single mothers and fathers feel more empowered and in control of their lives. Rowling has this instinct of a moral obligation to help individuals who are in a similar situation, as she once was.

Olav Thon is a Norwegian real estate developer, with 450 properties, including 60 hotels. He donated a large sum of money to a charity, he donated the ownership of his entire empire to his own Olav Thon foundation. He still controls the company, but all profits now go directly to charity.
