Meet India's 10 Richest Business Tycoons 2014


BANGALORE: What are those basic details about India that are known to the world? It is the rich Indian heritage, culture, and traditions, which are respected all over the world for its high values and morals. Secondly, Gandhi, father of our nation who propounded ‘Ahimsa,’ and thirdly, poverty, a disturbing fact about our country, which continues to persist till date.

Now, here is something new for the world to talk about India—the great Indian minds that made it to the Top Ten Rich Indians list with their brilliant business skills.

Hurun Report, a Chinese Magazine, released Hurun India Rich List-2014, a list of India’s richest people with a cut off of 1,800 crores and average wealth growth of 36 percent.

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani continues to be the richest Indian for the eighth consecutive year. He controls $85.5 billion (about 5,23,897 crores) in personal wealth, accounting for nearly half of the country's total billionaire wealth.

Chairman of Adani Enterprises, Gautam Adani, is one of the biggest gainers in the list with an average growth rate of 152 percent at 44,000 crores. The significance of his wealth is that he crossed the average growth rate of Mukesh Ambani, which dropped by 5 percent this year.

The list also includes Dilip Singhvi, chairman of Sun Pharmaceuticals, whose assets cost 1.29 lakh crore. His income rose to 43 percent.
