Intel to Increase its Focus on Cloud and E-commerce Sectors in India

BENGALURU: Keeping in accordance with their global business philosophy, Intel has shifted its focus on proffering Indian businesses technology by leveraging Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI). The firm is set to deliver x86 platform to its Indian consumers for software defined data center solutions that includes the Intel Xeon E5 2600v4 based processors powered by Intel Resource Director Technology. Intel through SDI is aiming to strategically focus on e-commerce and cloud-based industries.

“Shifting dynamics in India, propelled by the rising number of mobile consumers and workforces, rise of prevalent analytics, and swift innovation across industries have pressured businesses to move even faster for staying ahead or simply, staying alive,” said Srinivas Tadigadapa, Director, Intel South Asia.

“Both cloud service providers and businesses today are looking at SDI as it allows enterprises to adopt cloud easier and faster. India is a burgeoning ground for startups, and most of these start-ups, born out of cloud, prefer to hire software based services (xAAS). For enterprises, the need is different. They must evolve to an agile infrastructure that allows businesses to remain viable – either expanding the usage of public cloud functionalities, installing their own private cloud, or both. The result is constrained demand for software-defined infrastructure. Intel is investing to mature SDI solutions and provide a faster path for companies of all sizes to reap the benefits of the cloud,” he added.

In addition, Intel has developed partnerships with various software as well as hardware vendors in the country with an aim to build an ecosystem that will allow companies to efficiently leverage Intel’s enterprise solutions. Targeting the traditional enterprise sector, Dell has offered to supply products and solutions derived from the Intel Xeon E5 2600v4 processors for its enterprise clients.
