India's 10 Prosperous Cities, Delhi Tops the List

BENGALURU: Rapid urbanization implies rapid development of the cities. Cities play an important role in the economic development of any country. In case of India, it is the cities which contribute the most for a prosperous nation. An international think tank has come up with India City Competitiveness Report which showcases a list of cities that are doing their best to help boost growth in the country.

The Institute for Competitiveness has rated 50 Indian cities based on parameters such as physical infrastructure, availability of skilled manpower, diversity of firms, and governance. The institute’s quest is to identify the most competitive cities and track their year on year performance. And the national capital New Delhi tops the list. Take a look at the top 10 of most competitive cities:

DELHI:

Delhi emerged as the most competitive city in India with its stability. The capital is termed to the most stable city in the country with balanced demand and development in equal measure. The report says that Delhi has managed a phenomenal growth rate consistently over a period of time. The city is a hub of services industries such as information technology, telecommunications, hotels, banking, media and tourism. Also this power capital’s physical infrastructure is unmatched with any other city in India. Its good governance, skilled manpower, and diverse firms are the factors responsible for this status. The only two areas where the city lags behind is administrative and institutional support.
