Indian Expresso To Travel Abroad With Starbucks' Foundation

Bangalore: Indian Expresso that is grown and roasted in India may soon be found in the world’s largest coffee chain, Starbucks’ global network. A joint venture company, Tata Starbucks has now decided to promote its Indian sourced Arabica beans from Tata Coffee plantations, reports Purvita Chatterjee of Business Line.

Avani Davda, CEO, Tata Starbucks said, “The Indian Expresso is the hallmark at our stores. As the business here expands, we could look at taking the single-origin coffee and country-specific blends to neighboring countries. There are opportunities in taking these Indian blends. In the past, we have taken country-specific blends across the network to Malaysia and China.”

However, Tata has already decided to introduce ‘Himalayan’, an Indian mineral water brand in Singapore. There are more Indian based products that are already set to go into the Starbucks network that has branches across 62 countries.

Joint venture Tata Starbucks might also enter the retail market like how they has in the U.S. Infact, some modern trade outlets are already selling ready-to-drink Starbucks coffees to their consumers.
