HP in Talks To Buy Aruba Networks For $3 Billion


BENGALURU: Meg Whitman, CEO of Hewlett Packard has finally agreed upon an agreement with Aruba Networks for acquisition. The deal has been strike for an amount of $3 Billion. After accounting for Aruba’s cash and debt, the amount goes down to $2.7 Billion, reports Recode website.

Whiteman has further clarified that she will be hunting for future acquisitions more aggressively. After the acquisition, the company’s networking business will work under the leadership of Aruba’s CEO Dominic Orr and Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, Keerti Melkote.

Nonetheless, Dominic Orr and Keerti Melkote will be reporting to the head of HP, Antonio Neri, who runs $57 Billion enterprise.Whiteman has also further plans of dividing the company into two separate divisions: HP Inc., and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise.

Hewlett-Packard Enterprise will run under Meg Whiteman, whereas, HP’s PC and printing operations will come under HP Inc. This division in the company will happen somewhere around Q4 of 2015. This division is not a surprise move as Whitman was unhappy with the earnings of the company.
