1. Google

Google is an American multinational corporation that specializes in internet related services and products. It is owned by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. With the rising popularity of Facebook even Google had plans of buying it. In 2004, when Mark Zuckerberg and other co-founders of Facebook were in leafy Paulo alto during summer, Google made an initiative to have a talk. “It wasn't long before a couple of Google executives came over to see if there might be a way to work with or even buy The Facebook," as mentioned by a reporter named Kirkpatrick in The Facebook Effect. It seemed that "The board even approved talks about buying [Facebook], if it made sense," added Kirkpatrick. But after all the efforts Google didn’t clinch the deal.
