Get Ready For Hike in Consumer Durables As Rupee Weakens

Bangalore: The weak rupee seems to affect the consumer durable products as many are planning to increase the price of all their products due to dependence on imports.

LG India was one of the companies that came out and said that they will be increasing the price from 3-5 percent on refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, vacuum cleaners, air and water purifiers and dish-washers.

Y.V. Verma, Director at LG Electronics India said that it has become very important for the company to hike the prices since the rupee value is falling. The hike will be seen on all the LG products. He also went on to say that he is expecting all the company partners to cooperate with them in this situation.

Other consumer durable companies are also planning to hike the prices on their products. Manish Sharma, Managing Director at Panasonic said that “However, after this window period, the prices are likely to increase by 3 percent if the rupee does not recover”, as reported by Business Line”.
