Festive Season: E-Commerce Giants Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal Gears Up


BANGALORE: With the festive season starting in India, the shopping hungama kicks in from September-end to Diwali in late October. This is the top sales period in India, accounting for about 40 percent of the total for most of the brands. So, then that’s no surprise that e-commerce websites like Snapdeal, Flipkart and Amazon are out with their sales. These top three e-commerce companies according to multiple media planners are anticipated to spend around Rs 200 crore on this festive season, reports Times Of India.

Apparently, Snapdeal, wanted to be different with not just deals or offers but introduced advertising campaign. It has landed all 28 celebrities with them which include primarily television stars like Mandira Bedi and cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle. The company has developed 50 advertisement films which will be aired across 85 national and regional channels until Diwali and has blocked up to 2,000 ad spots a day across television channels. It spent over Rs 20 crore to become the presenting partner of reality show Bigg Boss and most of the ads will happen on the Tv and the newspapers.
