BANGALORE: Do you buy a cell- phone or a chocolate because you saw some famous celebrity endorsing it on TV or you go with the suggestions from experts and friends?

Every now and then we are coming across various commercials featuring celebrities boasting about the unique and best features about a particular product, say it a cosmetic soap, fairness cream, any food item or promoting any bank. But hold on; is it that apt for you and your health? That should be decided by you right?

According to a report published on “Global Trust in Advertising and Brand Messages”, across 58 countries revealed that 84 percent of people act on recommendations from people they know. 61 percent of people trust ads in newspapers.

It is crystal clear that consumers trust on the products that are recommended from experts or known-people and advertisements in the form of social media messages or banners are the least trusted source of information.
