Companies Entitled Modi's Smart City Projects


BENGALURU: The dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the country will have 100 Smart City will be sketched and analyzed by 37 companies, of whom, CRISIL, KPMG, McKinsey and Mott MacDonald are prominent names as Economic Times reports. These consulting firms will be limiting to 88 cities while the constructers of the remaining ten will be revealed later this week.

KPMG is assigned with an action plan for the country capital, Delhi and Pune will be lead by McKinsey.

Vadodara, Bhubaneswar, Amritsar, Chennai and Tiruchirapalli fall under the preview of Jones Lang La Salle Property Consultants India Pvt Ltd in association with Townland Consultants Pvt Ltd and Tata Consulting Engineers.

ICRA Management Consulting Private Limited in association with NJS Engineers India Private Limited and All-India Institute of Local Self-Government has bagged Rajkot, Kochi, Ajmer, Erode and Coimbattore.

Visakhapatnam and Ludhiana, located at the two extremes of the country will be taken care of by AECOM India Pvt Ltd with AECOM Asia Company.

Varanasi and Jhansi belongs to N K Buildcon Pvt Ltd.

Bhopal and Navi Mumbai are in the hands of Price Waterhouse Coopers with Rudrabhishek Enterprise & CPG Consultants Pvt Ltd and Tandon Urban Solutions Pvt Ltd with Spatial Decisions and Maha Infortech Pvt Ltd respectively.

Hyderabad and Aurangabad will be supervised by Knight Frank (India) Pvt ltd with Fortress Infrastructure services and PSP Financial Consultants Pvt Ltd.

Lucknow and Namchi (Sikkim) has been allotted ataworld Pty Ltd in association with Innovest Advisory Services Pvt Ltd and Caritas Eco Systems Pvt Ltd for guidance.

Alia Consulting Solutions Pvt Ltd and Genesis Fin are to coordinate for three cities like Greater Mumbai, Muzaffarpur, Durgapur (Bengal).

Kanpur, Ghaziabad and Thanjavur will be developed by Dorsh Holding GmbH in association with Dorsh Consult India Pvt Ltd and L R Kadaliya and Associates.

The Ministry of Urban Development promises Rs 100 crore to each of the cities aimed under the Smart City Scheme over the next five years.

Uttar Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are yet to suggest the cities that can be a part of the Modi Smart City Mission.
