Apart from renowned global big-shots, like – Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, who have risen to the top without a college degree, India is not behind in this regard either. Azim Premji

Premji is not only the Chairman of Wipro but also a philanthropist. He was awarded with the honorary doctorate from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, USA for his outstanding philanthropic work in 2009. But only a few people know that this multi-talented man is a Stanford University dropout. Premji dropped out from Stanford in the year 1966. He later finished his studies from Stanford in 1999. 

Premji ranks among the top leaders of the most industrious IT firms of India. Wipro is presently the 3rd largest IT firm in India. In 2010, Forbes ranked him as the 3rd richest Indian, with an estimated net worth of $17 billion. Asiaweek ranked him in the list of ‘The 20 Most Powerful Men in the World’ in the year 2000. Forbes also ranked Premji among ‘The 50 Richest People in the World’ from 2001 to 2003. Time magazine ranked Premji on the list of ‘100 Most Influential People in the World’ in April 2004.
